Heritage Events

This fall and winter, Camp Woodie is offering lots of opportunities at camp alongside your child to create memories that will last a lifetime in a safe environment. Each individual will receive a health screening upon arrival. These hunt opportunities include duck hunts, sporting clays and a dove hunt, parent/child deer hunting weekend as well as Boyd camp parent/child duck hunts.

Youth Only Duck Hunts

For the youth only duck hunts, the parent chaperone will NOT be allowed to hunt, but must accompany their camper in the duck blind along with a guide. Each parent/child pair will have their own room arriving the evening before. There will be a presentation about hunter safety and duck hunting skills with social time around the fire pits. After you morning hunt, you will then return to our new Boyd Family Dining Hall to enjoy breakfast as well as have the opportunity to learn how to clean your ducks. This will be available for FREE to Senior Campers who attended the 2021 summer sessions.

All participants will receive a health screening upon arriving from a SCWA staff member, and the camp will be disinfected between and during sessions.

Registrations are due one week prior to the start of the session and are based on availability.

Dates: November 12-13, February 4-5 and February 11-12

Sporting Clays and Dove Hunt Weekend

These Friday-Saturday sessions will feature a morning sporting clays session and afternoon dove hunt. We will provide meals and lodging. We will have sporting clays and dove hunt ammunition available for purchase. Participants are encouraged to bring their own shotguns, but range guns will be available.

All participants will receive a health screening upon arriving from a SCWA staff member, and the camp will be disinfected between and during sessions.

Registrations are due one week prior to the start of the session and are based on availability.

Dates: September 3-4, 10-11, 18 (Sr. Campers), 25 (Sr. Campers) and October 1-2

Parent/Child Deer Hunting Weekend

These Friday-Saturday sessions are all about deer hunting with two hunting opportunities-morning and afternoon. Each child/parent group is allowed 1 buck, 8 points or better, and one doe. We will provide meals and lodging as well as an educational experience in field dressing deer. Hunters must provide their own rifle and ammunition.

All participants will receive a health screening upon arriving from a SCWA staff member, and the camp will be disinfected between and during sessions.

Registrations are due one week prior to the start of the session and are based on availability.

Dates: October 8-10, 15-17, 29-31, November 5-7

Boyd Camp Parent/Child Duck Hunts

These parent/child duck hunts will take place on the Boyd Camp property at the Wildlife Education Center. You will arrive the evening before. There will be a presentation about hunter safety and duck hunting skills with social time around the fire pits.

Dates: November 19-20, 26-27, December 11-12, 17-18, 22-23, 29-30, January 7-8, 14-15, 21-22, 28-29
